Tony Parker Will Play in Game 4, Despite Calf Injury

The San Antonio Spurs and Golden State Warriors are ready for a crucial Game 4 tonight and there are a few key injuries. Star guards Stephen Curry (ankle) and Tony Parker (calf) are injured and could be limited in the game.

From Jeff McDonald of the San Antonio Express-News:

Nursing a bruise in his left calf he says is the size of a baseball, Parker was a spectator at practice but says he hopes — nay, expects — to play in what could be a pivotal Game 4 on Sunday afternoon against Golden State.

“I just can’t see myself not playing,” Parker said. “I’ll definitely play.”

Team doctors appear relatively confident in the diagnosis of a bruise. No X-rays or other precautionary tests have been scheduled.

The health and production of Parker is crucial for the Spurs success, so it will be interesting to see just how much he will be able to help the team on the court.

If he is unable to give a full effort, it could really hurt San Antonio’s chances of earning the win.
