This afternoon the NBA announced their All-Rookie First and Second teams which was highlighted by the NBA’s unanimous selection for the 2012-13 NBA Rookie of the Year, Damian Lillard.
Lillard was the only unanimous First Team selection (29 First Team votes, 58 points), while Bradley Beal of the Washington Wizards and Anthony Davis of the New Orleans Hornets totaled 57 points each, including 28 First Team votes.
Joining Lillard, Beal and Davis on the All-Rookie First team are Dion Waiters of the Cleveland Cavaliers and Harrison Barnes of the Golden State Warriors – Barnes being the only selection on a playoff team.
Making the All-Rookie Second team were Andre Drummond of the Detroit Pistons, the Toronto Raptors Jonas Valanciunas, Tyler Zeller of the Cleveland Cavaliers, Kyle Singler of the Detroit Pistons and Michael Kidd-Gilchrist of the Charlotte Bobcats.
Both teams were selected by NBA head coaches, all of whom were barred from selecting any of their own players.
