Los Angeles Dodgers Could Place Josh Beckett On Disabled List

The woes just continue to grow for the Los Angeles Dodgers.

According to MLB scribe Jon Heyman, the Dodgers are seriously considering placing starter Josh Beckett on the disabled list at some point today who has been dealing with a groin injury:

josh beckett (groin) has a good chance to become 10th dodger to go on DL today. not definite yet, but likely.

Beckett has struggled with the Dodgers ever since coming over in the mega-deal from the Boston Red Sox last year.

The 33-year-old starter had some initial success when he draped up in Dodger blue last season, finishing his seven start stint at 2-3 with a 2.93 ERA, though 2013 hasn’t been as kind. Currently sitting winless at 0-5 with a 5.19 ERA, Beckett’s struggles are just one of many for the Dodgers early in the year.

The news in baseball’s Hollywood isn’t all bad though as Zack Greinke will be activated from the disabled list tonight, his first start since he broke his collarbone in a scuffle with the San Diego Padres’ Carlos Quentin back on April 12th.

Any help the Dodgers can get is welcomed as they currently sit in last place of the National League West, 6.5 games behind the leading San Francisco Giants.
