NBA Draft 2013: Shabazz Muhammad Believes He is Best Player in Draft Class

Former UCLA Bruins center Shabazz Muhammad was one of the top freshman players in the nation coming in to this season, but he didn’t live up to all of the hype and his consistency caused him to slide down the rankings for the 2013 NBA Draft. While Muhammad may not be the can’t-miss prospect that he was hoping to be when he enrolled at UCLA, he still believes that he is ready to make an immediate impact in the league and that there is no one better.

“I know I’m a great player. I’m a guy that believes he’s the best player in the draft,” Muhammad said, via Michael Lee of The Washington Post.

Muhammad may catch some heat for his comments, but it is hard to criticize a kid for believing in himself. I mean, what else would you expect him to say? If Muhammad doesn’t believe that he is the best in the draft, then there is no reason for him to be trying to make it in the NBA.

Muhammad will find out exactly where he will get a chance to prove that he is the best on Thursday, June 27.
