Former Penn State Nittany Lions quarterback Steven Bench had been looking at a number of schools after deciding to transfer and he has finally made his decision. On Thursday morning, Bench announced that he has made the choice to transfer to the South Florida Bulls.
Bench shared his decision on Twitter:
I’ve decided to attend the University of South Florida and become a bull!! #DoSomething

Bench was also considering Mississippi State, North Carolina State. When former Arkansas Razorbacks signal-caller Brandon Mitchell decided to transfer to North Carolina State, they were removed from the list. He ultimately chose South Florida over Mississippi State.
Last season, Bench appeared in only two games.
He never threw more than seven attempts in those appearances and he completed just two passes for twelve yards.
Because of the NCAA sanctions that were handed down to Penn State following the Jerry Sandusky scandal, Bench will be able to play for the Bulls from day one. He is expected to compete for the job.
