It’s been no secret that Tony Parker has been playing with a sore left calf for quite some time, though, the pain has continued to lingered, causing concern among the Spurs medical staff.
A “precautionary” MRI was scheduled for this morning and the results are in – well – except they aren’t.
There was no mention of what the results were, just that San Antonio Spurs head coach Gregg Popovich says his All-Star point guard is “fine”…
Per Jeff McDonald:
Not much in the way of an official Tony Parker MRI report from Pop: “He’s fine. It’s the playoffs.”
What that exactly means is yet to be determined, as it’s typical Pop talk. Though, whatever the case, it’s not expected Parker will miss any time, which is a good thing for the Spurs given how effective the Belgium native has been throughout the playoffs.
Parker is currently averaging 21.6 points, 7.5 assists, 3.9 rebounds and 1.2 steals a game during the 2013 playoffs, all on 45% shooting from the field.
The San Antonio Spurs and Parker currently hold a 2-0 lead in their Western Conference Finals match-up against the Memphis Grizzlies and will look to extend that lead Friday night when the series makes its way to Beale Street.
