In the main event of Championship Fighting Alliance 11 on AXS TV Friday night, UFC and Strikeforce veteran Mike Kyle met veteran fighter Travis Wiuff in a heavyweight bout. The two met three years ago, when Kyle nailed Wiuff with an uppercut right at the bell. The fight was eventually ruled a no contest after it was decided that Kyle’s uppercut landed after the final bell in the second-round. Tonight, Kyle was looking for redemption, while Wiuff was looking to show the knockout was a fluke.
Kyle immediately came out with the quick jabs and used his clear speed advantage to clip Wiuff with a left hook and finish the fight with a devastating hammer fist after pleading for the referee to stop the fight.
Before finishing the fight and knocking Wiuff completely unconscious, Kyle looked to the referee to ask the fight to stop the bout because Wiuff was clearly out and unable to continue. The referee allowed the fight to go on, however, and Kyle landed one more punch that left Wiuff laying sprawled out in the cage.
After receiving some medical attention and oxygen, Wiuff was able to sit back up after a few minutes on his back.
It was officially a first-round knockout win for Kyle. The time of the stoppage was just 21 seconds in to the first-round.
