Arizona Diamondbacks pitcher Ian Kennedy was set to start in Monday’s doubleheader, but that won’t be happening after an accident at home. It wasn’t your typical accident for Kennedy, however. He was simply washing his dishes when he sliced the inside of his right index finger, so that had to have been an interesting call to the team.

From Jack Magruder of FOX Sports Arizona:

Well, that’s a little embarrassing.

In the absence of Kennedy, Tyler Skaggs will be called up from Triple-A Reno to start in the first half of Monday’s doubleheader against the Texas Rangers.

Kennedy should return to the team next Friday against the Chciago Cubs.
