According to Yahoo Sports’ Adrian Wojnarowski, the Milwaukee Bucks have cut their head coaching search down to three.
The Milwaukee Bucks are bringing back three candidates to interview a second time for the franchise’s head coaching job, league sources told Yahoo! Sports.
Atlanta Hawks coach Larry Drew, Houston Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson and Los Angeles Lakers assistant Steve Clifford will meet with Bucks officials this week in Milwaukee, sources said.
Drew, of course, coached the Atlanta Hawks this season and while still under contract for a few more weeks, is not expected to be retained by the franchise.
Los Angeles Lakers assistant coach Steve Clifford has been one of the most in-demand names for open vacancies, interviewing for a handful of potential head coaching opportunities since the Lakers’ ousting in the playoffs while Rockets assistant Kelvin Sampson has also found his name on quite a few short lists as well.
Sampson could have a small in with the Bucks franchise as he’s not only a former assistant coach with the organization, but also a favorite of guard Brandon Jennings, who let his feelings on Sampson be known on Instagram recently:
This my guy for Life. He needs to be a Head Coach in the NBA.
