With Memorial Day upon us, it is the unofficial kickoff to the summer season, so we have time off to sit back and enjoy our families. We should also take the time to honor and remember those brave men and women who took the time to serve in our military and put their lives on the line for our freedom, but never came home to their loved ones. We can also hope and pray that those currently serving in overseas conflicts can be protected and eventually make the journey home.

In sports, we often idolize the athletes and forget those who are the true heroes, but sometimes those athletes on the field are also the brave people that serve our country.

In honor of Memorial Day, here are ten men who bravely served the country in various branches of the armed forces:
