San Jose Sharks Coach Says Team Has Nothing to Lose in Game 7

The San Jose Sharks needed a win in Game 6 to keep their Stanley Cup dreams alive, and they were able to do just that on Sunday night with a relaxed attitude and level headed approach to the game. Now, with a do or die Game 7 scheduled for Tuesday night, Sharks head coach Todd McLellan is trying to take all of the pressure off of his team by saying that there is no pressure to get the win.

“We have nothing to lose. We’re going to play Game 7 against the defending Stanley Cup Champions,” McLellan said, via John Hoven of Mayor’s Manor. “The series has followed the script, with home teams winning. It’s time for us to change the story.”

San Jose will need to give it a full effort if they hope to buck that trend.

It is nice for McLellan to do his best to take all of the pressure off of the Sharks, but believing you have nothing to lose is the wrong mindset. The truth is the truth is that they have everything to lose.
