Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner is the top female basketball player in the nation (and probably the world) and today marked her official WNBA debut. In her debut, Griner made history on two different occasions. The first came in the fourth quarter when she threw down a one-handed jam and became only the third WNBA player ever to dunk in a game. Just a few minutes later, Griner threw down a two-handed dunk, which made her the first WNBA player ever to throw it down twice in one game.

Here is video of the first dunk of Griner’s professional career:

Griner’s first dunk was followed up by the second of her professional career just a few minutes later.

I would expect that we will be getting a lot more of these during Griner’s WNBA career, but let’s hope that she will start to add a little flare to the dunks instead of just going up with the basic one or two-handed slam.
