Los Angeles Lakers Steve Nash Has No Plans To Retire
By Bryan Rose
According to TMZ (wait, what? TMZ??!!?), Los Angeles Lakers point guard Steve Nash has no plans to retire – a statement he was forced to make under oath today as he and his ex-wife battle over child support.
On the stand, Nash was asked about his playing career and if he would be retiring in the near future, something he said he would not be planning to do. So Laker fans, rejoice, because Nash and his bad back wont be hanging up the sneakers just yet.
"Steve is on the stand right now … and that’s where he revealed he plans to stick around the NBA for a while. In fact, Steve said he has more than a year left on the lease for his sweet pad in Manhattan Beach, the city that a bunch of the Lakers call home."
Nash, who signed a 3 year, $28 million dollar contract with the Lakers still has two years and $19 million dollars owed to him, so it’s hard to see Nash throwing any of that money down the drain by retiring.
The 39-year-old point guard only played in 50 games for the Lakers this past season, though, still put up a very respectable average of 13 points and 7 assists per game.
