There is clearly something in the water today given the vast amount of rumored NBA trades reported in the past few hours.
One of the most prominent though involves that of the first overall pick in the upcoming 2013 NBA Draft. The Cleveland Cavaliers, who currently own the right to that selection are apparently open to moving it if the right deal came along.
The Minnesota Timberwolves may hold the cards to that “right” deal.
According to SheridenHoops.com (of former ESPN scribe Chris Sheriden fame), Joe Kotoch is reporting that the Cavaliers would be open to moving the pick in exchange for the Timberwolves’ star Kevin Love.
The Cleveland Cavaliers are fielding calls from everywhere, but the team they’d really like to to make a deal with is Minnesota.
And if the Timberwolves are willing to surrender Kevin Love, the No. 1 pick is available to them, sources tell SheridanHoops.com.
The report obviously needs to be taken with a grain of salt, but, in a somewhat perceived weak draft with the top overall pick coming off major knee surgery, it’s hard to imagine that the Cavs aren’t at least exploring their options which would include moving the pick.
Actually doing so though, is a completely different story.
