UFC Planning Fall Event at Cowboys Stadium With Anderson Silva vs Jon Jones Superfight, Cain Velasquez vs Junior Dos Santos 3

There is a very exciting report making the rounds in mixed martial arts circles today that should have fans of the sport looking forward to the fall. If everything goes according to plan, the UFC will have their biggest event in the promotion’s history, according to Dave Meltzer. Metzer reports that the UFC is planning a fall show that would take place at Cowboys Stadium and it would feature a fight that everyone has been dying to see. Per the report, the UFC is considering having a superfight between Anderson Silva and Jon Jones, along with the heavyweight title trilogy between Cain Velasquez and Junior Dos Santos.

Can I just pause for a minute to say, “wow.”

If this card happens, the anticipation and atmosphere will be unlike anything we have ever seen.

The idea would be to have Silva vs. Jon Jones and Velasquez vs. Dos Santos at the stadium, in October, at the same time as the state fair of Texas, perhaps on 10/12 or 10/19. That much is known to be at least something talked about. With Madison Square Garden seeming more and more unlikely for November, this show could be billed as UFC 20th anniversary show, with the idea of trying to repeat the success of UFC 100.

It looks like UFC light-heavyweight champion Jon Jones is already considering his next fight, which would look good for the report of the Silva – Jones superfight.

UFC president Dana White had previously said we could see a Silva – Jones superfight by the end of the year, and it looks like we are very close to having it happen.

Let’s just hope that everything falls into place.
