ESPN scribe Chad Ford is a day removed from watching an NBA prospects workout in Santa Monica, California – a workout in which NBA scouts couldn’t help but rave about Indiana Hoosier Cody Zeller.
The 7’0, 230lb big man has been a bit of an enigma the past few months, some questioning how he’ll transition from being a center in college to a power forward in the NBA. But according to Ford, Zeller looked fantastic and will be climbing up draft boards.
Per Ford, via RotoWorld:
He didn’t get to show off his jumper in college, but he’s reportedly been lights-out during the pre-draft process. Zeller also graded out better than Chris Bosh or LaMarcus Aldridge in terms of leaping ability, lateral quickness and straight-line speed.
Of course, there is much more to the game than just having better test scores, but it’s clear that NBA scouts are becoming a bit more keen on the Indiana native.
Most mock drafts currently have Zeller in the top ten, though, given the reports he could be sliding up near the top five.
