New Arkansas Razorbacks head coach Brett Bielema is doing his best to reach out to former players and alumni in an effort to build a stronger bond with the program and gain that extra support, but when he went to reach out to a certain former player, the message found the wrong player. The letter that was sent out was intended for former defensive end Jamaal Anderson, but it found it’s way to former Utah running back Jamal Anderson. You know, this Jamal Anderson.

Sure, the names are similar, but one of the players is a former NFC leading rusher and Pro Bowl running back, while the other is a first-round bust that has yet to find a real groove in the league. Hey, at least they both played for the Falcons.

Here is the letter that was intended for the man with a double-A in his name.

“The Dirty Bird” responded to the misguided message on Twitter.

“Credit Bret Bielema for the gesture,” he tweeted. “But, wrong Jamal. Wonder if coach will still send the jersey?”

You have to love what Bielema is trying to do and it could certainly do well for recruiting if the program can get former NFL players around the university, but it would help if they got the players that actually played for their school.

On a side note, I hope the Razorbacks have a former player named Joosh Sanchez.
