After suffering a devastating torn ACL injury on April 4th, there was hope that with proper rehab, Denver Nuggets sharpshooter Danilo Gallinari would be available sometime before the new year.
Sadly though, that hope appears to be fading as the Italian gunner may not return to the court until potentially the NBA All-Star break in 2014.
Per the Denver Post:
Nuggets forward Danilo Gallinari (left knee surgery) was originally slated to return to action around Jan. 1, but Gallo confirmed by text Thursday that he might not return until later in January or maybe even February.
There was speculation in recent weeks that Gallo could return even sooner than the January 1st date, but a “slight” delay after undergoing surgery for a torn meniscus four weeks ago has all but squashed those hopes. Gallinari has yet to go under the knife to repair the anterior cruciate ligament (the meniscus operation needed time to heal), so it appears the setback could push Gallinari’s return well into 2014. Any further issues could put his 2013-14 season in jeopardy, given his scheduled return would only leave about 20-30 games on the season schedule.
