San Antonio Spurs Tony Parker Says Achilles Is Inflamed; Wont Miss Game 1 Of NBA Finals

San Antonio Spurs point guard Tony Parker just can’t catch a break from a health standpoint, but you wouldn’t know it given his performances on the court.

Currently putting up 23 points, 7.2 assists and 3.9 rebounds a game on 47.5% shooting, Parker has been nothing short of unstoppable, despite dealing with a handful of injuries.

Now, per Parker, he’s dealing with an inflamed Achillies but has no plans to miss Game 1 of the NBA Finals:

Per the San Antonio Express-News:

Parker said his left calf, badly bruised in Game 3 of the Western Conference semifinals when Golden State center Andrew Bogut inadvertently kicked him, is fully healed.

But the Spurs’ leading scorer continues to battle pain in his lower left leg, with blood from the contusion pooling near his left Achilles tendon.

Parker gets daily ultrasound treatments but said it’s likely to be weeks before he is pain-free.

“The Achilles is inflamed,” he said, “but I’ll be all right.”
Game 1 of the NBA Finals will tip-off Thursday night, June 6th, at 9 p.m. ET on ABC.
