Brooklyn Nets Want Brian Shaw For Head Coach?

The Brooklyn Nets have been linked to a small countries worth of names to fulfill their head coaching vacancy, but according to Mike Wells, Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw has been getting the vast majority of their attention.

Per Wells:

Frank Vogel may need a new lead assistant cause Nets GM Billy King has done a lot of background checking on Brian Shaw, according to sources

Shaw has been a candidate for just about any open head coaching job for the last half decade, but, he’s continually stayed on the sidelines as an assistant, splitting the last nine seasons in Los Angeles and Indiana. However, that may be coming to a change.

The California native would bring instant credibility to the Brooklyn roster given his five NBA Championship rings along with a gold medal from the 1986 FIBA World Championships.

Learning under the guidance of both Phil Jackson and Tex Winter, it appears that Shaw may finally get the opportunity he’s long wished for as a head coach in the NBA.
