The Kansas City Chiefs are close to wrapping up OTAs, but there are some rumblings surfacing that there are big plans in store for the team’s star running back Jamaal Charles. Thanks to head coach Andy Reid tinkering with the offense, there are plans for Charles to be lining up at tailback, in the pistol and out as a receiver.

New offensive coordinator Doug Pederson had some praise for the running back.

“Obviously, we know what he did last year — Pro Bowl running back, had over 1,500 yards, excellent, excellent season,” Pederson said, via FOX Sports. “He’s a guy that we can put in multiple spots. He’s a sharp kid. He’s worked extremely hard this offseason.

“Really, I think the sky is the limit with him with what we’re trying to do. Just put him in different spots and using his ability to, again, create matchups defensively.”

The plan is to create a match up nightmare for defenses, and moving Charles all over the formations will do just that.

If you look at the way that Andy Reid used Brian Westbrook and LeSean McCoy in the past, you should expect that Charles is ready to make a serious impact in the passing game. When that is paired with his ability as a pure rusher, the Chiefs are going to have a serious weapon on their hands.
