Former Louisville 6’10″ center, Zach Price, who averaged 1.4. points and 1.3 rebounds as a sophomore for Louisville appears to be transferring out of the program.
After Price posted (and deleted) a couple of tweets on Friday night, Rick Pitino was asked about them on Tuesday at a press conference for his Maker’s Mark bottle. He responded saying he saw it coming.
“If he goes it’s not a big deal,” Pitino said. “You’re not going to hold onto everybody. If he does leave we wish him well and hope he has great success. I would say he’s gone because our players don’t tweet, so that’s a good indication. I spoke to him by text because he missed some summer classes, so that’s [another] indication.”
Prince followed that up, removing any doubts this afternoon.
With Price gone, it looks like Louisville’s front court got a lot thinner. After going from starting early in the season, with Gorgui Dieng injured and not seeing the floor till mid-January, Price was pushed back on the bench. Still he was enthusiastic and happy to help on the court whenever possible.
