There’s no doubt that University of Kansas standout Ben McLemore is one of the premier talents in the 2013 NBA Draft, but the number one overall pick? Over Kentucky’s Nerlens Noel? That couldn’t be right, could it?

Well, according to a report from Fox Sports’ Sam Amico, it very well may be.

Per Amico:

Cavs front office seriously dissecting possibility of drafting Ben McLemore with No. 1 pick, source says. More this wknd on @FOXSportsOH

McLemore has widely been regarded as a top three pick – in most recent expert mocks going second behind Noel to the Orlando Magic, but the knee injury to Noel and the improved play of Tristan Thompson and Tyler Zeller may have the Cavaliers doing a bit more research than they originally intended on McLemore.

However, with Dion Waiters already occupying the shooting guard spot for the Cavaliers, it is tough to see them taking McLemore first overall, so the “leak” could be nothing more than a smokescreen.
