2013 NBA Draft: Cleveland Cavaliers Still Weeks Away From Decision On No. 1 Pick

In a recent chat, ESPN basketball insider Chad Ford said that the Cleveland Cavaliers, who own the first overall pick in the 2013 NBA Draft are still a few weeks away from making a final decision on who they plan to draft – assuming they draft anybody at all.

Per Ford:

Q: I really like Otto Porter to the Cavs. Any chance it happens?

A: Sure. Cavs sources say they are still a couple weeks away from making up their minds. Still haven’t gotten all the answers they need on the medical either. That’s a big one. If they get uncomfortable with the medical, Porter could be the guy. Obviously, they could also trade this pick — however the interest isn’t particularly high.

Reports about what the Cavaliers plan to do with the pick have been across the board. From drafting Nerlens Noel to drafting Ben McLemore to trading the pick away, it’s been a merry-go-round of rumors that don’t appear on stopping anytime soon.

Churn, NBA rumor mill, churn.
