It appears the Orlando Magic’s desire to trade the number two pick in the upcoming 2013 NBA Draft has grown in the last week after it was reported that they were just “open” to moving the pick.
A report last week from Brian K. Schmitz suggested the Magic were considering the move as a handful of teams had let their interest in the pick be known, but according to an updated report from Schmitz, the Magic are now “strongly” considering trading the pick.
Per the Orlando Sentential:
The Magic are strongly considering moving down in the draft this month, according to a source familiar with their plans.
I’m told that “quite a few teams” have called the Magic about the availability of their lottery pick and what it might take to acquire it.
The Magic are listening.
The top half of the 2013 NBA Draft is considered relatively weak as there aren’t any true franchise talents available. Combine that with the vast amount of young talent the Magic already have and the franchise might be best served making a deal to move down, assuming the price is right.
