Apparently, not only is Jason Kidd one of the best point guards to ever grace the hardwood, he’s also pretty mean with PowerPoint.
The nine time NBA All-Star left the Brooklyn Nets brass so impressed yesterday after their meeting that they’ve apparently put him as their favorite to take on the vacant head coaching job, this according to the New York Post.
Per Fred Kerber:
Jason Kidd badly wants the Nets’ head-coaching job, and multiple sources insist the attraction is mutual and the team’s search for a replacement to P.J. Carlesimo is strongly pointing toward the future Hall of Famer. Kidd is viewed as the leading candidate for the job and met with GM Billy King yesterday to pitch his position.
Players retiring and immediately grabbing the clipboard isn’t exactly a new thing, though, very few have been of Kidd’s stature and even less have succeed (at least initially) with the job.
Either way, it appears Kidd has rocketed to the front of the line for the Nets’ head coaching vacancy.
