2013 NBA Draft: C.J. McCollum Says He’s One Of A Few Ready For NBA

Speaking to Bill Oram, C.J. McCollum says he’s one of only a small handful of players in the 2013 NBA Draft ready to contribute right away.

After #Jazz workout, CJ McCollum says, “I’m one of the players that’s ready to play right now.” #nba#lehigh

Glowing confidence aside, McCollum does come from a mid-major school and hasn’t exactly played against top notch talent, though, that didn’t seem to stop 2012-13 NBA Rookie of the Year Damian Lillard who played at Weber state.

The 6’3 guard out of Lehigh University does come with some impressive honors as he was named 3x first team All-Patriot League, 2x Patriot League Player of the Year and a 2x honerable mention All-American. Pair that with his impressive work at the NBA combine last month and McCollum has seen his draft stock steadily rise as the 2013 NBA Draft nears.

McCollum has compared his game to that of the Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry, though says he’s not the shooter that Curry is.
