French champions Paris St-Germain are looking for a replacement for Carlo Ancelotti, and one of the names they have interest in is Tottenham Hotspur manager André Villas-Boas. Reports say that PSG has reached out to Villas-Boas’ Portuguese’s representatives to see where his interest is at.
It would make sense for PSG to consider Villa-Boas, who has yet to start a second-year at any of his previous jobs, but it looks like he has found a place where he is comfortable.
“I have a contract,” he said. “I was given an opportunity [by Tottenham] and was extremely grateful.”
From The Guardian:
Yet PSG, sensing an opportunity, are believed to have contacted his agent, Carlos Goncalves, to ascertain his client’s state of mind. The manager’s representative has yet to return to PSG’s Qatari hierarchy with a definitive answer but it appears likely that Villas-Boas will not leave the London club only 12 months into his role, despite suggestions there is a £10m buyout clause in his contract.
The good news for Tottenham fans is that Villas-Boas wanting to stay means that not only will they retain their manager, but they will stand a much better chance at retaining star Gareth Bale. Without Villas-Boas, the chances that Bale would be transferred would have increased.
