Report: Boston Celtics Doc Rivers Might Be Out As Head Coach

This report should be taken with a heavy grain of salt given the source, but ESPN’s Chris Broussard is reporting that Boston Celtics head coach Doc Rivers believes it “may be time for a change”.

Per Broussard:

DEVELOPING: Doc Rivers believes it “may be time for a change” in his status as Celtics coach, source told @Chris_Broussard.

With the Paul Pierce situation undecided, Kevin Garnett‘s retirement and health in question and a Ray Allen who looks like a shell of his former self, Rivers understandably doesn’t want to watch his once proud ship sink nor does he want to be part of a rebuilding process which could lead to a change at the helm for the Celtics.

What’s to come from the report is unknown, but it’s something for NBA fans to keep an eye on. Rivers has all but refused to give an update on his intentions to remain Boston’s head coach, most likely wanting to see how the roster situation unfolded before he came to a final decision.
