We’ll chalk it up to separation anxiety between two of the greatest players at their respective positions. As Vonta Leach has reach out to the Houston Texas, the new home of former teammate Ed Reed, about a possible return.
As it turns out, the Texans have reportedly reciprocated that interest and are in talks with Leach’s agent, Ralph Vitolo.
“We just talked and (Rick Smith) mentioned that he definitely had an interest in Vonta,” Vitolo said in an interview with FOX 26 Sports.
… “He said that it would be beneficial for all of us if we could get him back down there. It’s just a matter of ‘how we can do it money-wise and when can we do it and if we can do it.’
… “It’s a mutual interest,” Vitolo said. “He felt the whole organization would benefit from getting Vonta back there.
… “He thinks it’s a win-win. He’s a difference-maker. He said ‘it’s not just me, it’s the entire organization.’ ”
… “There are seven teams that have contacted me expressing interest,” Vitolo said. “You have to look at the free agent market to establish your worth and see where you’re comfortable at.
At 31-years-old, there’s reason to believe that the three-time All-Pro still has plenty left in the tank. Why? He’s just a beast. Always has been. And having him out in front of Arian Foster would undoubtedly solidify the Texans as the league’s premiere running team.
The Kansas City Chiefs, New York Giants, Miami Dolphins and Cleveland Browns are among the team’s interested according to Vitolo.
