Well, you can’t fault Chris Bosh for trying. Bosh had an opportunity to throw down the hammer just before halftime to give the Miami Heat a slight 51-49 lead, but Bosh was just a second too slow and was beat by the buzzer. Instead, the two teams enter the half tied at 49 points a piece.
The best part of the moment was that Bosh appeared convinced that he had completed the dunk in time. To be fair, it looked very close in real time, but when you see the replay it is clear that the ball came down to late. Bosh even urged the officials to check the replay with a nifty little finger twirl.
The good news is that we are talking about a failed dunk attempt that was actually admirable instead of the embarrassing flops that were taking place during the first half. But poor Bosh. You gotta feel for him. He looked like he was going to have a shining moment in Game 4, but his dreams came crashing down.
On a positive note, we did get the finger twirl — which won’t be rivaling Dikembe Mutombo’s finger wag anytime soon. At least not in my house.
