Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo has been linked to a potential return to Manchester United this summer, but recently there were rumors that he had re-upped his deal with Real Madrid. Reports indicated that Ronaldo had inked a new five-year deal to remain at Bernabeau, but the Portugal star quickly denied those reports.

From his official Twitter account:

While Manchester United seems like the most likely team to land Ronaldo if he does not renew with Real Madrid, there is a dark horse that emerged and they could be willing to make a record breaking offer.

That team is French club Monaco, who are prepared to offer £85 pounds to bring Ronaldo on board. That offer would break the previous transfer record of £80, which was set when Real Madrid originally brought Ronaldo over from Old Trafford.

So while there have been rumors that Ronaldo is returning to Bernabeau, the drama appears to be far from over.
