Tottenham Hotspur star Gareth Bale has been the center of many transfer rumors early in the transfer window, but the latest report that is surfacing could spell disaster for all of those at White Hart Lane. According to The Daily Mail, you can add French champions Paris St-Germain to the list of teams interested in the Professional Footballers’ Association and Football Writers’ Player of the Year.
Not only is PSG interested in Bale, they are willing to outbid anyone — including Real Madrid, who has previously said they would offer record money for the 23 year old.
In order to break the transfer record, Real Madrid would need to offer Tottenham more than the £80 million that they sent to Manchester United in 2009 to bring Cristiano Ronaldo on board. If they make that kind of offer, Tottenham would struggle to turn it down. For PSG, they are ready to up the offer to £85 million.
PSG is also after Tottenham manager Andre Villas-Boas, with hopes that adding him would make it easier to land Bale.
It is going to turn out to be a crazy battle for Bale, and this will be the story to watch throughout the entire summer. If PSG was able to land both Villas-Boas and Bale, it would be devastating for the Spurs, but it would make the French champions ever more dangerous moving forward.
