It’s been a disappointing season for the Milwaukee Brewers and that disappointment will only grow stronger after it was announced today that slugger Corey Hart may not be available until after the MLB All-Star break.
Brewers general manager, speaking on his radio show, said that Hart could potentially be out until sometime after the Mid-Summer classic.
Per Tom Haudricourt:
GM Doug Melvin said on his WTMJ Radio show this morning that Corey Hart might not be back until after all-star break.
It’s one of many crushing blows delivered to the Brewers this season who sit 16 games out of first place with a 27-38 record.
With franchise face Ryan Braun facing possible suspension for PED’s along with a lingering thumb injury, infielder Rickie Weeks falling from grace and being platooned to ace Yovani Gallardo pitching like a borderline starter, the 2013 season is turning into a mulligan.
Whenever Hart does return, his powerful bat will certainly be a boost to the struggling Milwaukee lineup as Hart owns an impressive total of 87 home runs the past three seasons.
