With the 2013 NBA Draft approaching, Kentucky Wildcats center Nerlens Noel has already met with the teams that hold the No. 2 and No. 3 overall picks in the draft — the Orlando Magic and Washington Wizards, respectively. Now, the player who many believe is the most talented player in this year’s class can add another visit to his list. According to Mary Schmitt Boyer of The Plain Dealer, Noel is set to meet with the Cleveland Cavaliers.
Noel will visit the Cavaliers, who hold the No. 1 overall pick, on June 20, according to the report.
It really isn’t a shock that Noel is meeting with the Cavaliers. What will be interesting to see is how his medical tests come back. If Noel is healthy, there is no way he will slide out of the top three selections.
With a healthy knee, Noel would be a great pick for the Cavaliers who could team him with star point guard Kyrie Irving. The selection would give the Cavs two bright young stars to really build their franchise around.
And who knows… maybe that could be enough to lure LeBron back to Cleveland in 2014? We’re joking… I think.
