Stanley Cup Finals 2013: Boston Bruins Will Not Gameplan For Andrew Shaw

The Chicago Blackhawks and Boston Bruins gave us an epic Game 1 that spilled in to the early hours on Thursday morning before Blackhawks center Andrew Shaw deflected the game-winning goal past Bruins netminder Tuukka Rask. While Shaw came up huge for Chicago and put Boston in an early hole, the Bruins and head coach Claude Julien don’t appear to worried about game planning against the Blackhawks savior moving forward.

I don’t think we do our gameplan around Mr. Shaw,” Julien said after the game, via NBC Sports. “Our gameplan is against the Chicago Blackhawks. We know he’s an agitator, we know he’s good at embellishing too, at times. We know all that stuff.”

Shaw finished the game with an impressive all around performance that included with a goal, an assist, a plus-2 rating, nine hits and a takeaway.

He may not appear to be a serious threat for the Bruins, but they need to be very concerned if he can continue to put on this type of performance throughout the entire series.
