Despite being texting buddies with Dwight Howard and Howard suggesting that he would play for the Atlanta Hawks if Chris Paul would join him, the former Wake Forest product is “unlikely” to leave the Los Angeles Clippers.

The report from ESPN suggests that while Paul, who was originally drafted by the Atlanta Hawks, would like to play with Howard he’s comfortable in LA and would find trouble leaving.

Per ESPN:

But Paul, despite recently being upset with the Clippers over the perception that he got coach Vinny Del Negro fired, is unlikely to leave Los Angeles, one source said. He has gotten over his anger with the club and likes living in Los Angeles.

“It would be very tough for him to go to Atlanta,” the source said. “He loved Atlanta when they should have drafted him in ’05 but not so much since then. But hey, everybody is an option at this point.”

The Clippers would be open to bringing in Dwight Howard though don’t have the financial flexibility to do so and a trade with the Lakers is extremely (read: impossible) unlikely.
