When Matt Kemp suffered a “mild” hamstring strain back in late May, the Los Angeles Dodgers expected the slumping slugger to return at the end of his fifteen day disabled list stint.
However a “small” setback occurred last weekend as Kemp attempted to test out his injury, though the Dodgers still expected him to be activated by the end of this weekend.
That will not be happening and now the Dodgers don’t expect Kemp back until the end of June, give or take.
Per David Vassegh:
Matt Kemp won’t be activated on this road trip
The Dodgers’ current road trip extends until June 23rd before they return home on the 24th to take on their bitter rivals, the San Francisco Giants.
Assuming there are no other setbacks, Kemp should return sometime before the end of the month, a bitter pill to swallow for the 28-37 Dodgers who sit in last place in the National League West.
When activated, Kemp will return with a .251 average, 2 home runs and 17 RBI through 51 games.
