Chelsea forward Fernando Torres has been linked to transfer rumors, but it looks like he could be ready to stay in Samford Bridge. Despite some strong interest from Barcelona, in his home country, Torres has publicly said “thanks, but no thanks” to the Spanish club and went on to say that he is ready to return to Chelsea in an effort to improve new manager Jose Mourinho.
“It is always nice when such a club are interested”, Torres said, via insidefutbol.com. “But I want to stay and talk at a later stage with Jose Mourinho. I want to stay at Chelsea. I have a contract.”
Chelsea has been successful with Torres helping run the show, but he has failed to be the standout that Chelsea was hoping to bring in when they spent over £50 million to bring him over from Liverpool just two years ago.
Of course, there is always a chance that Barcelona could offer an amount that no one could say no to, but it speaks volumes that Torres prefers to stay with The Blues.
