Although the Sacramento Kings hired Denver Nuggets executive Pete D’Alessandro earlier today, it appears their attempt to restructure the front office is not complete.
For a few days, rumors have been swirling in the California capital that the Kings, in addition to wanting a general manager, also want a team president.
Enter former Boston Celtics general manager and current Memphis Grizzlies executive Chris Wallace who has interviewed with new Kings owner Vivek Ranadive three times in the past few weeks.
According to CBS’ Ken Berger, the Kings may offer Wallace a contract as team president in the next few days:
The Kings’ ownership group, led by Vivek Ranadive, is still working through how the front office will be structured and hasn’t ruled out hiring a team president to work alongside D’Alessandro, one person familiar with the situation said. Grizzlies GM Chris Wallace is the leading candidate for that position, the person said.
