San Antonio Spurs shooting guard Danny Green has had one of the best shooting performances that we have ever seen. On Sunday night during Game 5, Green did what no other man has ever done and broke the NBA’s record for most three-point field goals in an NBA Finals series with his 23rd three-pointer that helped extend the Spurs lead in Game 5.

To make the record even more impressive, Green has hit his 23 threes on an incredible 70 percent shooting from behind the arc.

Win or lose in this series, Green is coming away as the breakout star.

In an interesting twist to the record breaking performance, the man who’s record Danny Green broke is sitting on the opposite sideline. Ray Allen was the previous record holder from the NBA Finals back in 2008 when he was a member of the Boston Celtics.

As you can see from this GIF by CJ Fogler on Twitter, Allen didn’t appear very happy about watching his record fall:

Congratulations to Danny Green for his amazing performance in the finals, but now let’s see if the Spurs can hold on to the lead and carry a 3-2 series lead in to the final two games in Miami.
