Florida's Antonio Morrison Arrested on Battery Charge

Florida Gators head coach Will Muschamp isn’t going to be too happy. After an offseason where his players have been able to stay out of trouble, one of their promising young defensive talents decided to go out to a club and get arrested on battery charges.

According to the Florida Times-Unionsophomore linebacker Antonio Morrison allegedly pulled the “don’t you know who I am” card after being denied entry in to a club. The 19-year-old went on to punch the security guard and engage in a minor “scuffle.”

During his true freshman season, Morrison appeared in all of the team’s games — starting three. He totaled 34 tackles and a forced fumble.

Morrison was expected to start the season as Florida’s starting middle linebacker and to have a potential breakout career, but these charges will take his attention away from football and he could end up missing a game or two to start the season.

The university has yet to comment on the situation, but something tells me they won’t be entirely thrilled about the incident.
