Iowa Hawkeyes linebacker Dalton Shaull was hospitalized over the weekend after being involved in a moped accident. The good news is that injuries do not appear to be serious, but it was a scary and dangerous situation for the young man.

From The Gazette report:

Dalton Shaull, a walk-on linebacker from Oskaloosa, Iowa, was involved on an accident on Thursday afternoon in the Iowa City area. The release said he is being treated at the University of Iowa Hospitals and Clinics.

Iowa City Police Sgt. Brian Krei said the accident occurred around 4:46 p.m. Thursday when a moped, driven by Shaull, rear-ended a car in the right lane along Highway 1 in Iowa City, east of Mormon Trek Boulevard. Krei said the accident involved personal injury, though it is unclear whether Shaull was wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. Krei said no citation was issued.

Shaull is believed to have a neck injury, but a photo posted on his Facebook page showed the linebacker in good spirits.

The good news for Shaull is that he is in stable condition. We hope that he continues to have a speedy and full recovery.
