Oklahoma City Thunder star point guard Russell Westbrook has had a lot of free time on his hand since tearing his ACL back in the first-round of the NBA Playoffs a month ago. But time has apparently been spent discovering the mobile app video service ‘Vine’ and Westbrook has made more than a few interesting videos.

But he’s also tracking his progress with the app and he has a message to all his fans out there — he’s back. Westbrook posted a video of himself struggling with his crutch and then trying to break it over his knee. He finishes by throwing the crutch into the pool and then remarking that he’s back.

The fact that he seems to be rehabbing so fast is splendid news for Thunder fans still heartbroken over Oklahoma City’s very early exit from the postseason. A year after coming so close to bringing home an NBA Finals trophy, the Thunder fell embarrassingly short of getting back to that position again this season.

Kevin Durant is an MVP type player but we saw that he can’t do it on his own and clearly needs Westbrook at his side if the Thunder want to be anywhere near the team they should be. What Westbrook’s torn ACL proves is that the contracts the Thunder gave both Durant and Westbrook were better moves than we thought as they need each other to win.

The next step is getting Westbrook healthy and so far that plan looks to be coming along very well.
