Premier League and Tottenham star Gareth Bale is highly coveted by Real Madrid, but the London club has so far refused to part with their 23-year-old prodigy. Zinedine Zidane, who is currently a sporting director for the Madrid club, urges Bale to take the initiative and hand in a transfer request to Tottenham.
Despite the fact that Tottenham have been reluctant to parting ways with Bale just yet and claim that he is happy at White Hart Lane, Madrid continue to push for the transfer. According to Mirror, Zidane thinks it’s all up to Bale:
“I think Real Madrid have made their admiration of Gareth Bale very clear – and it has been made clear that we would not be put off by the cost of the player.”
“But if Gareth feels now is the time to move then he has to have a private discussion with his club and express that he wants to leave.”
While Bale has hinted that he wants to play outside of England, he has not specifically asked for a move just yet. However, there is obviously a lot of pressure from Madrid, and Real would be willing to offer something in the vicinity of £85 million to bring Bale to Santiago Bernabéu.
