Denver Nuggets to Interview Brian Shaw, Lionel Hollins for Head Coach This Week

After hiring Tim Connelly as their general manager today, it appears the Denver Nuggets are closing in on also hiring a head coach.

According to a report from the Denver Post, the Nuggets are set to interview both Brian Shaw and Lionel Hollins for their head coaching vacancy this week.

Per the Post:

Meanwhile, Indiana Pacers assistant Brian Shaw will interview Tuesday for the Nuggets’ coaching vacancy, an NBA source told The Denver Post on Monday morning. Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins, the other top candidate, will interview on Wednesday, as Denver looks to replace the fired George Karl.

With both a general manager and coach hopefully in place in the near future, the Nuggets will be able to focus on their attempt to re-sign free agent to be Andre Iguodala, who recently opted out of his contract which would have paid him nearly $16 million dollars for the upcoming season. The former Arizona Wildcat product has not ruled out a return to Denver though he’s hoping to obviously secure a more long term future with a new deal.
