Denver Nuggets to Hire Either Brian Shaw or Lionel Hollins?

While there may not be a frontrunner as of yet, it appears that either Brian Shaw or Lionel Hollins will be named head coach of the Denver Nuggets – at some point.

Both Shaw and Hollins have (or in Hollins’ case will have) interviewed multiple times and appear to be the only two candidates receiving serious interest from the Nuggets franchise.

Per the Denver Post:

He (Shaw) interviewed with the Nuggets on Tuesday, an NBA source confirmed, and is in competition with former Memphis Grizzlies coach Lionel Hollins, who is set to interview Wednesday.

In addition to the Nuggets head coaching job, Shaw and Hollins (along with a small handful of others) are battling for the Los Angeles Clippers head coaching position.

Shaw has spent about a decade as an assistant with both the Los Angeles Lakers and Indiana Pacers while Hollins was recently let go by the Memphis Grizzlies after the two sides were unable to agree on a financial number for a new contract.
