ESPN’s Marc Stein reported a few hours ago that the Boston Celtics and Los Angeles Clippers, who rekindled their potential trade today were nearing a conclusion and the deal could be completed tonight.

That wont be the case, according to Brad Turner. That doesn’t mean the two sides are done talking though as Turner reports both the Celtics and Clippers will continue their talks in the morning, hoping to complete the trade at some point tomorrow.

Per Turner:

The Clips-Celtics won’t be getting deal done tonight for Doc, KG to LA. Sources said talks that resumed today resume tomorrow morning.

In the most awkward set of circumstances, while the Clippers front office attempts to find a suitable trade between themselves and the Celtics, Clippers owner Donald Sterling reportedly took potential head coaching candidate Brian Shaw out to dinner this evening as the two met for the first time during the coaching interviews.

Shaw, along with Lionel Hollins are the reported fallback options if the deal with Boston falls through.
