Report: Sacramento Kings Could ‘Shake Up’ 2013 NBA Draft

According to a report from ESPN insider Chad Ford, the Sacramento Kings may be thinking about ‘shaking up’ the 2013 NBA Draft.

The Kings are reportedly showing interest in Tony Snell and Tim Hardaway Jr. – two fine players in their own right, but players who clearly would not be picked near the Kings draft selection, which is 7th.

Per Ford:

Kings could really shake-up the draft at 7. Heard they like both Tony Snell & Tim Hardaway Jr. a lot. Both in Sacramento today working out

So what does that mean? Well, it could mean a couple of things. The more simple scenario would be that the Kings could potentially swing a deal for another first round pick. The Dallas Mavericks are all but asking teams to take on the contract of Shawn Marion along with the #13 pick which could be in play for the Kings, who are under new ownership eager to spend money. Or, it could mean something bigger. Might the Kings trade away their first round pick in a larger deal to bring some veteran talent to the California capital?

Sounds like we’ll have an answer within a week.
