University of Oklahoma football coach Bob Stoops’s home was burglarized early Wednesday while the family slept according to police.

The Stoops family reported the burglary at 8:30 am, but the robbery is suspected to have occurred between 3:30 and 4:10 am. The most noticeable thing stolen was a vehicle. Other smaller items were reported stolen as well but those details haven’t been released because the police investigation is still ongoing according to Norman police Lt. Eric Lehenbauer, via NewsOk.com.

Even scarier is that members of the Stoops family were in the home during the robbery. This brings back memories of robberies gone awry, for instance the Sean Taylor murder. This one had a better outcome and no one was hurt according to Lehenbauer.

Police have also not identified who in fact was home during the robbery. But Bob Stoops possibly could not have been home. Stoops and several OU football players were in Wichita, Kansas for an appearance Wednesday evening at an OU Club Wichita event. Wichita is close enough to Norman to make it a day trip.
